Join Membership professionals and lay leaders for an intensive four day seminar in Cleveland, OH. Through study with leading congregational Rabbis and the experienced URJ program staff, participants will learn to create a culture of welcome and retention in their synagogue communities. Participants will study new techniques for recruitment, while focusing on the important goals of integrating members into their synagogues and retaining them throughout their lives. Fellows will explore Jewish population trends and gain insight into Jewish identity formation. Best practices in the area of advertising, creating synagogue websites, new member intake and programming for retention will be stressed. Most importantly, participants will leave the program with a comprehensive action plan, tailored to suit the membership needs of their home congregation. Limited scholarship monies are available. For more information call 212.650.4230 or email
outreach@urj.org.

Board Membership Workshops Trained facilitators are available to consult with your congregational boards and membership committees on membership recruitment, integration, and retention issues. These workshops enable temple leaders to ensure that their congregation is welcoming and attractive to the unaffiliated. In addition, these board workshops are geared towards helping your lay leadership cultivate increased engagement and retention among current synagogue members. For more information, contact Ruth Goldberger at (888) 842-8242 or at rgoldberger@urj.org.
