Whereas the senior high school years afford the religious school a unique opportunity to convey to rapidly maturing minds the depth and scope of Jewish belief and practice, and
Whereas the principle of a continuing, life-long practice of the practice of the study of Torah is one of the major objectives of our religious education program and is a basic commitment of the believing Jew,
Be it therefore resolved that the Union of American Hebrew Congregations calls upon our rabbis and congregations to establish and implement a fully integrated program of Jewish religious education for its high school youth, incorporating both a complete high school department and an active youth group.
